Midfielder Snubs Premier League Interest In Favour Of La Liga Move
Wigan midfielder Mahamed Diame is set to reject the advances of Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham and Aston Villa and move to big-spending Spanish outfit Malaga.
Wigan midfielder Mahamed Diame is set to turn his back on the Premier League and move to Spanish outfit Malaga, according to the Daily Mail.
Diame joined the Latics for £3m from Rayo Vallecano in 2009 but is out of contract this summer and looks set to leave after failing to secure a regular first team place at the DW Stadium.
The Daily Mail claim that the 24-year-old has attracted interest from Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham and Aston Villa, who are all keen to land the talented midfielder on a free transfer this summer.
Manchester United withdrew their interest due to concerns over the players heart condition, which lead to Wigan always having a defibrillator close to the pitch during his time at the club.
However, despite the Premier League interest Diame is believed to have agreed to join big-spending Malaga, who will be playing Champions League football next season after finishing fourth in La Liga.
