CESC FABREGAS: Hung out to dry by broke Barca bullies
By Fab4.
Cesc Fabregas has been stitched-up by Barcelona. No doubt at the end of last season he was promised a quick deal to secure his exit from Arsenal and join his beloved Barca. His dream was coming true. Only problem was that these were the promises of an out-going president at a broke club. After a rather embarrassing public pursuit, which includes daily ‘we would love Cesc to join us’ calls from Barca players, it seems that Cesc may be forced to remain in London for at least one more season.
Barcelona president Sandro Rosell has admitted it’s looking unlikely that they will sign Cesc Fabregas this summer, despite the midfielder once again reiterating his desire to join the Spanish outfit. Rosell has confirmed that there are no talks between the two clubs at present and claims Arsenal are not interested in listening to any offers for their captain.
“Arsenal feels very hurt by Barça,” Rosell told to Catalan TV3. “They don’t want to listen to offers or sell and they are not putting the player [Fábregas] on the market. There was a strong dispute a few months ago and they have not forgotten it.”
However, Rosell is still confident Fabregas will wear the Barca shirt in the near future but claims the club will not push the boat out to sign the 23-year-old.
“He will arrive, even if it is not now, it will be next year,” said Rosell. “We will see. One thing that is certain is that we will not go mad trying to sign him. No shareholder would pay €60m or 70m for him. We will not go all out for him. We would only pay his value in the transfer market.”
Arsenal have finally stood up to the playground bully and it seems to have done the trick. Just like when your dad would tell you when you were younger; ‘don’t let anyone push you around son, the bullies will soon back down if you stick up for yourself’, Arsenal have taken this advice on board and told the Barca bullies where to go and predictably they have backed-off like the cowards they are.
Fabregas has been seriously badly advised during this whole saga. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that Barca, or at least their new president, don’t value him as highly as they should or he thought they did. They clearly don’t want to pay what should be required for a player of his ability and if Cesc had any sense he would be seriously put-out by Rosell saying they wont ‘go all out for him’. Cesc was being used by former president Laporta as some sort of goodbye present to the club, a way of securing his legacy, and now the new guy isn’t fussed if they buy him or not. Cesc has been hung out to dry by Barca who he thought would do all they could to sign him, only to find out they are broke and can’t afford him. He has been unsettled at Arsenal for nothing.
Maybe someone should have told Cesc what his president-to-be was saying before he reaffirmed his desire to join the Catalans:
“I have not spoken to anybody in the last few days and I want to ignore anything regarding my future for now,” he said.
“I want to enjoy my holidays and I don’t want to talk about Barcelona at this moment.
“I make no apologies for the comments I have made in the past. I have expressed my interest in returning and I stand by that, as that is my personal wish.”
Maybe now is the time Cesc gets his agent to earn his wage and sort this mess out. Contact Arsenal and find out for sure that we’re not interested in selling him and this isn’t all part of the transfer game as a way to increase the price, that way Cesc can get his head around staying at Arsenal next year and put an end to this ridiculous affair.
The only way Cesc will be joining Barcelona is if they are willing to pay what he is worth…they can’t and just as important, they wont…so end of story. For now…….
