The summer transfer window is open and Football Talk will bring you all the latest transfer news doing the rounds in the papers. Today, Arsenal and Liverpool are snubbed by Saloman Kalou.
Former Chelsea forward Saloman Kalou has snubbed a move to both Arsenal and Liverpool after agreeing to join Lille, according to the Metro.
The Ivorian is now a free agent after running down his contract at Stamford Bridge, and has set his sights on securing more regular first team football having struggled to hold down a regular place with the Blues.
The Metro report that Arsenal and Liverpool have both tried to land the 26-year-old on a free transfer, but it seems he has decided to end his stay in the Premier League and opted for a move abroad instead.
It’s claimed that Kalou has agreed terms with former French champions Lille, who will once again be playing champions league football next season having finish third last term.
Lille were on the look out for some creativity in the final third having recently sold Eden Hazard to Cheslea, while Joe Cole has also returned to Liverpool after a season long loan spell, and the versatile and experienced Kalou could prove to be an excellent addition.
