Samir Nasri In Hot Water After X-rated Bust Up With Journalist
Former Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri is in hot water after a foul-mouthed outburst at a journalist following France’s 2-0 defeat to Spain on Saturday night.
Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri is in hot water after a foul-mouthed outburst at a journalist, according to the Mirror.
The former Arsenal ace was dropped by coach Laurent Blanc for their quarter final clash with Spain following a dressing room bust-up after France’s defeat to Sweden in the group stages.
Spain eased in to the Semi finals thanks to a double from former Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso and after the game, Nasri took his frustration out on a French journalist from Agence France Presse.
When asked about his thoughts on the game, Nasri replied with a foul-mouthed tirade:
“You are looking for s**t, looking for trouble. F*** you, go f*** your mother, you son of a b****.”
Nasri is quoted as saying in the Mirror.
It’s then believed the midfielder offered the journalist outside before he was ushered away and on to the French team coach.
The 24-year-old’s future with the national team is now in doubt and Blanc has condemned his players actions, describing them as “embarrassing and regrettable”. He claims there is an underlying problem between Nasri and the French media, but insists he’ll take care of the matter with the player.
“There is a problem between the press and Samir Nasri. It was embarrassing and regrettable. If it is true, it is disrespectful to the journalist.
“This is unfortunate for his personal image and that of the national team. I’ve already told Samir what I had to say.”
Blanc is quoted as saying by the Mirror.
After scoring against England in France’s opener, Nasri put his finger over his mouth to indicate a ‘shhhh’ sign, which was believed to have been aimed at the French media.
French Football Federation President Noel Le Graethas also had his say on the matter, describing Nasri’s actions as ‘intolerable’:
“He has a difficult way of behaving. We will discuss things and take a look at his problem. I will ask the journalist to meet with me, but this is intolerable,”
Graethas is quoted as saying in the Mirror.
Nasri has a history of problems in France including a bust-up with former Arsenal team-mate William Gallas, who has previously described him as a ‘rat in the dressing room’, and the pair have regularly refused to shake hands before Premier League games.
