Rodgers Targets 3 or 4 Signings & Claims Suarez Is Staying

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed he’s looking to sign 3 or 4 players this summer while also claiming Luis Suarez will be at the club next season

New Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed he’s looking to sign three or four players this summer while also claiming Luis Suarez will be at the club next season, according to the Independent.

Rodgers is still waiting to make his first signing since taking over at Anfield a month ago but has confirmed he’s looking to add a number of new faces to his squad ahead of next season.

Several names have been linked with a move to Merseyside including the likes of Gylfi Sigursson, however, the former Swansea boss has stressed that supporters should not believe everything they read in the newspapers. Quoted in the Independent, Rodgers said:

“I’m looking forward to bringing in three or four players that can really affect the group,  I’ve got a wonderful group of players here at the moment.

“I read every day players that are linked with here and unfortunately, especially for the supporters, it’s a difficult time because you’ve got agents linking players with Liverpool just purely because it’s great for them to be linked with such an institution of a club.

“But the reality is there are very few players who can come and make a difference to Liverpool.”

Suarez Staying

Rodgers is also confident he will be able to call upon the services of star striker Luis Suarez next season after confirming he’s held positive talks with the Uruguayan.

The Independent claim that Italian champions Juventus are ready to make an offer for the striker but Rodgers is adamant the 25-year-old is looking forward to starting the new season at Anfield and even claims he want’s to get the player tied down to a new contract at the club.

“I’ve had a brilliant chat with Luis,”

“He’s really looking forward to being here and we are obviously hoping that we can get him on to another new contract.

“He’s really looking forward to the new season.”

Rodgers is quoted as saying in the Independent.

Just putting a name in that I havnt seen linked with the reds.
I think Sergio Canales would be a brilliant signing and a long term sucessor to Gerrard. Thoughts?

I like canales think he is a realistic target young and has loads more to give and will only get better with age… as a replacement for gerrard thats a big ask ….. but i would still have him at Lfc.

Oh dear. Don’t want it to end up with BR looking like Wenger. Denying a player is leaving as they do a signing press conference at new club. New contract is a start but with new financial controls at club how much will they offer. When Gerrard, Cole, Johnson, Aqua all on £100k + per week will Luis accept any less ??

This is utter rubbish. I’m sorry but Rodgers DID NOT say he wants to bring in 3 or 4 players. If you listen to the interview and check it on the official
Website, then he said he may look to bring in SOME new players.
Very cheap article writing fake headlines to try and get people in to read. Poor.

It’s not all abt signing many players like we d last season but geting d right people 2 pen. since no much fund 4 buying why not use d little slated for 3 to 4 playres 2 get jst 2 world class players that could savage d club. Names that could frighten rivals, jst imagine the commentator calling RASMUS ELM,GASTON RAMIREZ,JOVETIC. Along side SUAREZ.FGS pls do something very fast.

THink we should all be very wary of new structure. BR did well at Swansea but struggled at Reading when he couldn’t implement game plan. Owners are trying to change contracts and way club has been run for a long time if all doesn’t go right could be looking at even more trouble. Also have to be realistic on transfer options we are looking at Davies from Bolton not Jovetic, Muller or Huntelaar.. If £40k top wage is to be believed, even if we agree fee we’ll struggle for Gaston Ramirez as along will come Juve etc and he’ll head elsewhere..

I think LFC needs attacking power… Adam Johnson is a hungry player and just wants to play regularly, Clint Dempsey is a goal poacher with vast premier league experience, Vargas would complement Enrique on the left flank very well. A striker in the shape of Oscar Cardozo would be great.
These are realistic targets : A. Johnson, Clint Dempsey, Juan Vargas and Oscar Cardozo

Liverpool need ramirez as downing replacement, need Adam Johnson as hunger winger, an sirguson as Henderson replacement, an two hungers finisher.

Liverpool need an attacking midfielder who can hold ball for like 45sec without loosing possession, a defensive midfileder incase of injury. an excellent striker, and two sharp wingers. As we anticipate the revival of our lost glory.

It shouldn’t jst b English players,KD did dat & faild woefully.any player added should b a player dat can also contribute goals 2 d team,we ave so many players nw dat can’t score.i think we need a defensive midfielder 2 add 2 Lucas,an attacking midfielder wid an eye 4 goals,a winger lyk Sinclair & a striker,Demba Ba should be ok,Suarez can be better on d left flank yl Carrol can b 2nd choice 9 if he under-performs,gud luck BR.
