Cazorla Agrees 4-Year Deal & Set For Debut vs Cologne
Santi Cazorla has agreed a four-year deal after passing a medical and will complete his £16m move to Arsenal in the coming hours, according to the Guardian.
With the summer transfer window in full swing, Football Talk will be keeping you up-to-date with all the latest transfer news throughout the summer. Today, Arsenal close of Cazorla.
Santi Cazorla has agreed a four-year deal after passing a medical and is expected to complete his £16m move to Arsenal today, according to the Guardian.
The Spaniard traveled to London on Thursday after being given permission by Malaga to leave training to undergo a medical with the Gunners.
The necessary examinations have been completed and the Guardian claim the 27-year-old has agreed a four-year contract and will complete his £16m move today.
The midfielder will link up with his new team mates next week when he’s due to travel with the rest of the Arsenal squad to a training camp in Germany and is in line to make his debut in a friendly against FC Cologne next Sunday.
Cazorla is comfortable playing on the wings but it’s believed that boss Arsene Wenger plans to utilize the talented Spaniard in an attacking midfield role at the Emirates, and he will go someway to filling the creative void left by Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri last summer.
In what would be a stunning double swoop, the Guardian claim Wenger is also confident of landing Nuri Sahin from Real Madrid on a season-long loan. The Turkisk midfielder has struggled to make an impression at the Bernabeu since his move from Borussia Dortmund last year and has been told by boss Jose Mourinho to go on loan to gain first team experience.
Arsenal are eager to give him that chance due to concerns over the fitness of Jack Wilshere, who is expected to be out until at least the middle of October.
