Tottenham have made a shock move for out-of-favour Arsenal striker Marouane Chamakh, according to the Mirror.
Spurs are in desperate need of attacking reinforcements with only two strikers available in the form of Jermaine Defoe and the inexperienced Harry Kane.
Boss Andre Villas-Boas has been linked with a whole host of strikers this summer and while the club are still trying to secure Emmanuel Adebayor on a permanent basis from Manchester City, the Mirror claim they have made an enquiry to take Chamakh on loan from north London rivals Arsenal.
The Moroccan has fallen out-of-favour at the Emirates and boss Arsene Wenger left him out of the squad against Sunderland on Saturday as the club try to find a club willing to take him on loan.
Everton have been linked along with Serie A side Fiorentina, but so far the Gunners have been unable to find a side willing to match the strikers £60,000-a-week wages.
The interest from Tottenham will come as a major to surprise to many, especially given the rivalry between the two clubs, and in all honesty a deal looks extremely unlikely, irrespective of what the Mirror are reporting.

Chamakh has hardly been pulling up trees at Arsenal and with many Spurs fans questioning the appointment of former Chelsea flop AVB, signing one of Arsenal’s rejects is hardly going to endear him to the White Hart Lane faithful, is it?
