Wenger: I Want To Sign Two More

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed he is hoping to add two new players to his squad before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.
The Gunners confirmed after Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Sunderland that the Club had agreed to sell midfielder Alex Song to Barcelona, with the 24-year-old now in Spain to undergo a medial and is expected to complete the move in the next 24 hours.
Despite being able to call upon the services of Abou Diaby again and Jack Wilshere is also due back in around 6 weeks time, Wenger has revealed he wants to sign a new midfielder as well as a defender in the coming days.
Wenger told Arsenal.com.
“We are looking to bring one more midfielder in of course, and maybe one defender as well because we still feel we are short in some positions,” he told Arsenal Player.
The Club have been strongly linked with a move for Real Madrid’s Nuri Sahin, but the Turkish international can hardly be described as a ‘defensive midfielder’ so can’t be considered a like-for-like replacement for Alex Song.

If Sahin is the only midfielder brought in this summer, it will be interesting to see how the Gunners line up and who is given the defensive duties in the sides midfield, as there is no real regonised defensive midfielder in the squad at present.
Personally, i would also like to see long-term target Yann M’Vila come in as well but that seems unlikely unless someone like Ramsey or Coquelin goes out on loan.
