Unsettled Attacking Duo Set For January Moves?
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has stepped up his interest in unsettled England duo Theo Walcott and Daniel Sturridge ahead of a potential January double swoop.
Despite the transfer window being closed, there is always transfer gossip doing the rounds in the papers and we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest news during the coming months. Today, Liverpool are linked with January moves for Theo Walcott and Daniel Sturridge.
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is lining up a double January swoop for unsettled London duo Theo Walcott and Daniel Sturridge, according to the Daily Mail.
The Reds supremo is desperate to solve his striker crisis when the transfer window re-opens in January after failing to land his targets in the summer, and the Arsenal and Chelsea attackers are top of his wish-list. However, while both Walcott and Sturridge are unsettled at their London clubs, Liverpool still face difficulties in securing the pair.
23-year-old Walcott is in the final year of his Arsenal contract and is yet to agree fresh terms. The England international is keen to be given a chance up front after spending his entire Emirates career on the wings and he’s also thought to want a better package than Arsene Wenger is prepared to offer.
Liverpool are willing to pay the Gunners £10m this January and Rodgers is ready to give Walcott the playing time up front he desires, but the former Southampton star is thought to be reluctant to join a club not in the champions league.
Sturridge is struggling to establish himself in Roberto Di Matteo’s starting eleven and Rodgers is prepared to offer him a way out of Stamford Bridge.
The merseysiders want to take the 23-year-old on loan for the second half of the season but Chelsea are only willing to sell him on a permanent basis and would listen to offers in the region of £15m.

The big question remains; where will Walcott and Sturridge be plying their trade when the transfer window closes in February? Will Theo sign a new deal at Arsenal, or will Liverpool be able to tempt him away? Will Sturridge stay at Chelsea and fight for his place or leave in search of first team football?
