Poulsen skips international duty to complete £6m Liverpool move

Liverpool are closing in on the signing of Juventus midfielder Christian Poulsen after the player withdrew from the Danish national squad for Wednesday’s friendly against Germany to finalise the move.
The Red’s have agreed a £6m fee with Juve and the 30-year-old will now fly to Merseyside to discuss personal terms and undergo a medical, if all goes according to plan Poulsen could even be signed in time to face Arsenal on Sunday.
Denmark coach Morten Olsen confirmed Poulsen was allowed to miss this weeks international in order to complete his move to Liverpool.
Morten Olsen told the Daily Mail: ‘I was happy to release Christian because this is a very important move for him and for us.
‘We can benefit as a national team because he will be playing at a high level and he’ll be happy playing for a manager who rates him highly. That should help bring the best out of him.’
