Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has revealed that Gunners legend Thierry Henry has been back training with the club and has refused to rule out another January loan move.
Giroud is quoted by France Football as saying:
“Henry trained with the group and told me he did not know if he would make a return with us this winter”
Henry made a stunning return to Arsenal last January during the MLS off-season and had a huge impact during his six weeks at the club.
We were struggling at the time and very much like this year, were light in the striking department, so Arsene Wenger brought Henry ‘home’ on a short-term deal. It had an immediate impact as Thierry came off the bench to score a sumptuous winner against Leeds United in the FA Cup and then grabbed a crucial last minute winner against Sunderland in the Premier League.
He also got another in a thrashing of Blackburn but the muppets at the FA ruled it out and put it down as an own goal.
Despite being another year older, Henry is arguably in better shape this year and has been in superb form in the US, scoring 15 goals in 25 games this season for the New York Red Bulls – including some absolute stunners that wouldn’t look out-of-place on a ‘Henry’s top 10 Arsenal goals‘ DVD.
I would love to see Thierry back in an Arsenal shirt once again and i think it’s a real possibility. If Wenger sees enough in training to suggest he’s fit enough to play for us, given the fact we’ll most likely lose Gervinho and Chamakh to the African Cup of Nations in January/February, we’ll be left short up front.

However, if Henry’s return means Wenger won’t buy another striker on a permanent basis, then i’d rather leave it to honest. We need another top striker to be signed in January and Herny on a six week deal isn’t going to be enough. By all means bring back the great man AS WELL as another striker, but NOT instead of.
