Wenger Confirms He’s Targeting Two New Players & Hints At Henry Return
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed he wants to sign two new players in January and also hinted at a return to the club for Gunners legend Thierry Henry
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed he wants to sign two new players in January and also hinted at a return for Thierry Henry, according to the Daily Mail.
We’ve endured our worst start in over 30 years, with goal-scoring a particular problem for large parts of the season, and currently sit seventh in the league table – five points off the top-four.
Many fans have called for investment when the transfer window opens in January and it seems we could get our wish, as boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed he has money available to spend and he’ll be working hard to bring in two fresh faces this winter.
‘This winter we will work very hard because we have some funds available. It could happen that we buy two players, but I cannot reveal the names.”

Two players who’ve been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates in recent weeks are Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha and Schalke striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.
Chief scouts Pat Rice and Steve Rowley have both watched the pair in recent weeks, and it’s thought Wenger will open the bidding with a £9m offer for Zaha in January, but Palace will do all they can to hang on to the talented 20-year-old.
Huntelaar is out of contract at the end of the season and will be able to sign a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club in January, but Schalke may be keen to cash-in this winter rather than lose him for nothing in the summer. Former Holland striker Erik Meijer shares the same agent as Huntelaar – Arnold Oosterveer – and he claims Arsenal are favourites to land the prolific striker.
‘According to the information I have, Huntelaar will be gone in the winter,’
‘Arsenal FC are the favourites to land him.’

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has also been linked with a return to the club in January. Henry has been training with the squad during the MLS off-season and Arsene Wenger has praised the 35-year-old and hinted another loan spell could be on the cards.
‘A loan [for Henry] is still a possibility, but we will still try to strengthen for the long term.
‘Henry is the talent that you dream to have. He has fantastic physique, fantastic technique, a fantastic brain, all built together in one man. At the start he was not confident enough but he has gone on to show what a great player he is.’

If we could sign Henry on a short-term loan, and Zaha and Huntelaar on permanent deals this January, I will be one very happy Gooner! Personally, i also think we need to add a powerful, ball-winning midfielder to the squad but i’m not convinced Arsene will target that area.
