Arsenal vs WBA Preview, Team News, Likely Line-ups & Predicted Score
Arsenal welcome WBA to the Emirates on Saturday afternoon looking to close on the top four. Here’s a preview with team news, likely line-ups and predicted score
Arsenal welcome high-flying West Brom to the Emirates on Saturday afternoon looking to get their flagging Premier League season back on track.
We currently sit 10th in the league after last weeks disappointing 2-0 defeat to Swansea but crucially we’re only five points off third-placed Chelsea, so a win tomorrow could see us leap up to sixth and within touching distance of the top-four.
The Gunners head into the game off the back of Tuesday’s 2-1 defeat to Olympiakos but while the final result wasn’t what we’d have hoped for, the performance of the vastly under-strength side was encouraging, particularly in the first half.
Steve Clarke’s side are flying high this season and are currently level on points with Chelsea and Tottenham, and have already beaten the likes of Liverpool, Everton and Chelsea so we know we’re in for a game on Saturday.
Team News
Arsenal will be without Lukas Podolski and Theo Walcott for the game after the pair were ruled out with hamstring and calf injuries. I hope Tomas Rosicky gets a start as he was excellent in the first half in Greece. If he plays, expect Cazorla to move out to the left side with Rosicky in the middle alongside Wilshere and Arteta.
Right back Bacary Sagna is also out along with Laurent Koscielny who continues to be sidelined with a thigh strain. Andre Santos, Abou Diaby and Lukasz Fabianski are all out as well.
West Brom are in the unenviable position of having virtually a fully-fit squad to choose from. Keeper Ben Foster is the only absentee so Boaz Myhill will continue to deputise in goal.
Likely Line-ups
Predicted Score
I have a feeling the Emirates crowd will play a big part tomorrow. It’s clear the fans frustration is rubbing off on the players and i think it’s time we forget our differences with the board/manager and get behind the team before this season really gets away from us. Despite our worst start in nearly 20 years we’re still only a couple of wins away from being right back in the mix for the top-four, so lets kick start the season with a win on Saturday. Arsenal 2-1 West Brom. COYG!
