Mourinho’s Been Texting Abramovich Dropping Hints At Chelsea Return
The Daily Express are reporting that Jose Mourinho has been exchanging text messages with Roman Abramovich dropping hints that he want’s to return to Chelsea.
Could Jose Mourinho be set for an amazing return to Stamford Bridge this summer? Well it seems he’s keen on the idea with the Daily Express reporting today that the Portuguese boss has been exchanging text messages with Roman Abramovich dropping hints that he want’s to take over from Rafa Benitez at the end of the season.
The report claims Mourinho is expected to leave his post at Real Madrid after having major fall-outs with key players as well as members of the clubs hierarchy, and is now considered as favourite to return to West London after Pep Guardiola agreed to join Bayern Munich.
The Express claim that Mourinho has already been in contact with Blues owner Abramovich, as well as senior staff and players, with a ‘source’ close to the Russian revealing he’s been dropping hints at a sensational return to the Bridge in the summer. The source told the Express:
“Jose has been sending messages to people at the club. Not just to Roman, to everybody, dropping hints.”
Mourinho was a huge favourite at Chelsea during his time at the club between 2004-07 when he guided them to five major trophies, including two Premier League titles. The newspaper also suggests the 49-year-old still keeps in regular contact with players such as Frank Lampard, John Terry and Ashley Cole, so he would no doubt be a popular choice if he does return.
Current interim boss Rafa Benitez is highly unlikely to stay beyond the summer and with Mourinho buying a house not far from Stamford Bridge last year and his teenage daughter attending the Camberwell College of Arts, there are several reasons to believe ‘The Special One’ could return to Chelsea at the end of the season.
