Brazilian midfielder Willian has once again spoken of his disappointment at missing out on the chance to secure a move to the Premier League after revealing Chelsea and Tottenham were interested in signing him, according to talkSPORT.
The 24-year-old has been in superb form over the last 18 months and the report claims he has been linked with a move to England after impressing in the Champions League this season.
talkSPORT suggest that both Chelsea and Tottenham were hoping to finally land Willian this month but it appears Shakhtar Donetsk refused to do business for the playmaker, with the player revealing his frustration at missing out on a move to London and once again admitting it’s his ‘dream’ to move to the Premier League.
“I was quite upset about what happened at the time, because big clubs like Chelsea and Tottenham were interested in securing my services.
“Every player dreams of playing in the Premier League. It’s in the past now, though. I’m calm and doing my utmost out there on the pitch.
“I don’t feel any pressure as I have met with the Shakhtar board and they are aware of my desire to move to a big club in Italy, Spain or England. I have two more years to go on my contract here and will continue to give my best.
“Chelsea are a great club and won the Champions League. Tottenham are a big club as well, and have a good coach in Andre Villas-Boas.
“They are two clubs with tradition. I’m still with Shakhtar for now, though. The transfer window is open for a few more days, but there are no offers it seems.
“You always keep hoping, but I’m focused on Shakhtar and want to do well in the Champions League. The board knows what I want, so there’s no need to keep on talking about it.”

A move to the Premier League seems only a matter of time for Willian and he will certainly be an excellent addition to the league if/when he does end up coming to these shores. But a move in January looks out of the question so we’ll have to wait and see if Chelsea and Tottenham renew their reported interest in the summer.
