Arsenal currently sit sixth in the Premier League table – three points above Liverpool – but four points adrift of fourth-placed Tottenham, so both sides need a win tonight to maintain their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League next season.
Arsene Wenger has recalled captain Thomas Vermaelen to play alongside Per Mertesacker at the back. Bacary Sagna, Jack Wilshere, Theo Walcott, Kieran Gibbs and Santi Cazorla also return after being rested against Brighton.
Brendan Rodgers has also recalled his big-guns with the likes of Steven Gerrard, Pepe Reina and Glen Johnson returning. Jamie Carragher also gets a rare start with Martin Skrtel relegated to the bench. Here are the confirmed line-ups for the game:
