The draw for the semi final’s of the 2012/13 FA Cup took place on Sunday evening and has thrown up a mouthwatering tie that could see a Manchester derby at Wembley.
Manchester United blew a 2-goal lead to draw 2-2 with holders Chelsea at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon and the winners of the replay have a clash with Premier League champions Manchester City to look forward to in the next round after Roberto Mancini’s men cruised through to the semi’s after thrashing Barnsley 5-0 on Saturday night at the Etihad.
Wigan Althetic also strolled through to the last four with a surprise 3-0 win over Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday lunchtime and they’ve been awarded with a tie against either Millwall or Blackburn after the pair played out a 0-0 draw on Sunday.
Unfortunately we’re not going to see two of the Premier League’s heavy weights contest the FA Cup final once again but the draw does guarantee either Blackburn, Millwall or Wigan will be in the final, which will be a great achievement for whichever club makes it.
