Serie A Striker Welcomes Interest From ‘Big Clubs’ Arsenal & Man City
Fiorentina striker Stefan Jovetic has welcomed interest from Arsenal and Manchester City and fueled speculation he could be set for a move to the Premier League
Despite the transfer window being closed there is still plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Stefan Jovetic hints at a move to the Premier League.
Fiorentina striker Stefan Jovetic has welcomed interest from Arsenal and Manchester City and fueled speculation he could be coming to England after praising the Premier League, according to the Daily Mail.
After a fairly slow start to life in Italy following his move from Partizan in 2008, the Montenegro hitman has been in superb form in Serie A over the past two years and has netted 26 goals in 51 league appearances during that time.
It seems his impressive form hasn’t gone unnoticed in England with the Mail claiming Arsenal and Manchester City have been linked with a move, with Gunners boss Arsene Wenger understood to be particularly keen on the 23-year-old who is valued at between £20-£25m by Fiorentina.
Jovetic has now come out and welcomed being linked with Arsenal and City, who he calls ‘big clubs’, and hinted he may be plying his trade in the Premier League one day soon:
‘It sure is nice when you are interesting big clubs like Arsenal and Manchester City,’
‘I’m very comfortable in Italy but the Premier League is at the top of the football world – and perhaps the best.
‘Who knows? Maybe one day I will be playing at one of the English clubs.’ Jovetic is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail

The striker will get a taste of what it’s like to play in the Premiership when he lines-up against England for Tuesday’s World Cup qualifier, but it would be great to see him playing against the likes of Ashley Cole and Steven Gerrard on a more regular basis as he’s certainly a top talent who would be an asset to English football.
However, we’ll have to see whether Arsenal or Man City follow up their reported interest this summer and it seems Fiorentina are going to want a sizable fee for the player if the Mail’s £20-£25m valuation is accurate.
