[VIDEO GOALS] Analysis and Player Ratings From Arsenal’s 6-0 Win over Braga
Written by Fab4.
Arsenal produced a magnificent display to blow Braga away 6-0 at the Emirates last night. Captain Cesc Fabregas was at the heart of everything once more and chipped in with a brace, while Marouane Chamakh, Andrey Arshavin and a lovely double from substitute Carlos Vela sealed the win for the Gunners.
What can you say other than majestic. If ever there was a display of ‘total football’ this had to be right up there. Before we get too carried away, the opposition were dreadful, so this has to be taken into consideration, but take nothing away from the Gunners….we were amazing.
You can check out all the goals below. Its good TV, trust me! Even the most ardent anti-Arsenal fans have to appreciate the quality of some of the football we played last night. So quick and accurate it was mesmerising at times.
The performances of Cesc Fabregas in the last two games have been of the highest level and i must say i am relieved that the antics of Barcelona this summer haven’t harmed his displays on the field for Arsenal. He is a true professional and you can still see he loves Arsenal, despite his Catalan desires.
It’s good to see Carlos Vela getting some game time recently, but more importantly getting amongst the goals. Both his finishes were classy and very Vela-esq. I hope Le boss continues to give him a chance, i suppose he doesn’t have much choice with RVP and Bendtner out! But i can see Vela being an important impact player this season.
At half-time i was worried about the display of Arshavin. Despite his goal, he looked disjointed from the rest of the team. But some of his passing during the second half was pure class. Eye-of-a-needle springs to mind. The combinations between him, Fabregas, Wilshere and Vela were a joy to watch.
I really enjoyed Chamakh’s performance, he really works for the team and he knows where the goal is. So far he has filled that ‘something different’ we have been crying out for in recent years.
So a great start to this seasons champions League campaign. The hope as ever is that Arsenal can take this football into the really big games against the United’s, Chelsea’s and Barcelona’s of this world. But for now lets just enjoy this performance, ‘were you watching Tott-en-ham?’
