Fabregas Ready To Move If £30m Release Clause Is Met
Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City have been placed on alert with Barcelona’s Cesc Fabregas willing to return to the England this summer.
With the summer transfer window set to re-open, there is plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Cesc Fabregas is open to a return to the Premier League.
Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City have been placed on alert with Cesc Fabregas open to a return to the Premier League after becoming frustrated with his role at Barcelona, according to the Telegraph.
Fabregas spent eight years in north London with Arsenal before rejoining his boyhood club back in 2011. However, his time back at Barcelona hasn’t quite gone according to place with the 26-year-old struggling to establish himself in the starting eleven and when he does play he’s often played in an unfamiliar role up front.
The Telegraph claim the midfielder is growing tired of his role and being left on the bench for key fixtures and is prepared to move back to England is his £30m release clause is met with Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City all believed to have been made aware of his discontent.
The Gunners are reported to have inserted a clause in Fabregas’ contract that ensures they have first option to buy the midfielder back if Barca decide to sell, but it remains to be seen whether Arsene Wenger would be willing to spend a large chunk of his transfer kitty on the player.
Manchester United are understood to be on the look out for midfield reinforcements due to the retirement of Paul Scholes and the continued doubts over the long-term fitness of Darren Fletcher and a player of Fabregas’ quality would be a huge signal of intent following the loss of Sir Alex Ferguson.
With Chelsea and City getting new managers this summer you’d expect both clubs to re-shape their squad’s in the coming months and if a player like Fabregas is available, it’s no surprise the wealthy duo are linked with a move but if he does return to the Premier League I’d say Arsenal and United would be the most likely destination.
