Cabaye Wants Arsenal Move As Wenger Sanctions New £15m Bid
Yohan Cabaye is keen on making a move to the Emirates Stadium as Arsenal line-up an improved £15m offer for the French midfielder, according to reports tonight.
With the summer transfer window in full swing, there is plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Arsenal are ready to increase their offer for Yohan Cabaye.
Yohan Cabaye is keen on making a move to the Emirates Stadium as Arsenal line-up an improved £15m offer for the French midfielder, according to reports tonight.
The Gunners saw an opening offer of around £10m rejected out-of-hand by the Geordies yesterday with boss Alan Pardew heavily criticising the north Londoners for not only the size of the bid but also the timing of it, as the midfielder was subsequently left out of their 4-0 defeat to Man City on Monday night following interest from Arsene Wenger’s side.
Sky Sports sources are claiming that Cabaye is keen on making the move to the Emirates Stadium, with the player believed to want to take the opportunity to play in the Champions League. Newcastle are adamant that Arsenal will have up their bid dramatically for them to consider a deal, with the report suggesting an offer of around £18-£20m will be required for owner Mike Ashley to sell.
The Evening Standard claim that Wenger gave the go-ahead for an improved £15m bid to be submitted this week shortly before he flew out to Turkey with the Arsenal squad to play the first leg of their vital play-off with Fenerbache.
The newspaper suggests that PSG are also keen on the 27-year-old and have asked to be kept informed of any developments, with the big-spending French outfit understood to have indicated that they would be prepared to pay in the region of £15m for the midfielder – an offer that Arsenal are willing to match.
It remains to be seen whether that sum will be enough to persuade Newcastle into selling but it would represent a huge profit on the fee they paid Lille two years ago.
