Spanish youngster Luis Alberto put in an excellent display in front of first team boss Brendan Rodgers as the Under-21’s came from 2-0 down to beat Sunderland 5-2 at Anfield on Tuesday.
The visitors took a shock 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Alejandro Rodriguez-Gorrin and David Moberg Karlsson but the Reds pulled one back just before the break when Jack Dunn fired home for 2-1. Alberto got his first of the night to level things up at 2-2 before Raheem Sterling put Liverpool ahead for the first time.
Alberto then sealed the three points with a composed header and a penalty to seal an impressive second half hat-trick, and he will no doubt have given Rodgers plenty to think about with his MOTM performance.
