Real Madrid In Talks With Luis Suarez Over £42m Move
Reports today are claiming that Liverpool’s Luis Suarez remains keen to leave Anfield and is already in talks with Real Madrid about a £42m move to the Bernabeu
Although the summer transfer window is officially closed that doesn’t stop clubs working hard behind the scenes and preparing for the January transfer window, so we’ll keep you up-to-date with all the latest gossip. Here, Real Madrid are linked with Luis Suarez.
Liverpool striker Luis Suarez may have been all smiles after scoring a brace on his return to Premier League action last week, but reports today are claiming he’s still keen to leave Anfield and is already in talks with Real Madrid about a £42m move to the Bernabeu.
The Uruguayan went public with his desire to leave Liverpool in the summer in search of Champions League football, but Brendan Rodgers stood firm and refused to sell, knocking back two bids from Arsenal in the process.
Suarez has since returned to the pitch after completing his 10-match ban and scored two during a 3-1 win over Sunderland last weekend as Liverpool continued their impressive start to the new campaign.
Just as it seemed talk over Suarez’s future had settled, the Daily Star are citing reports coming out Spain from TV station Punto Pelota who are claiming that the striker remains desperate to leave Merseyside and his representatives are already in talks with Real Madrid over a £42m move this January.
The report claims that Madrid haven’t been put off by Liverpool’s insistence that Suarez won’t be sold as they believe the strikers relationship with boss Brendan Rodgers has been broken beyond repair after he refused to sell him in the summer, and they even seem to suggest that the Reds will AGREE to sell Suarez for £42m, which seems highly unlikely for many reasons.

I find it hard to believe that Liverpool would agree to sell Suarez in January for £42m just four months after turning down a £40m bid from Arsenal. If they had any intention of selling the Uruguayan, they would have done so in the summer when they would have had more time to negotiate a higher fee and bring in an adequate replacement.
So despite what Punto Pelota and the Daily Star are reporting, I wouldn’t be worrying too much Liverpool fans. If Suarez is to leave, it will most likely be in the summer and a lot can change between now and then.
