Liverpool were held to a 2-2 draw by 10-man Newcastle United at St James Park on Saturday lunchtime in a thrilling game that saw Steven Gerrard score his 100th goal for the club.
The home side took the lead through a fantastic strike from Yohan Cabaye before Gerrard converted a penalty after Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa was sent off for a foul on Luis Suarez just before half time. Newcastle then went ahead for the second time through sub Dummett before Suarez set up Daniel Sturridge for 2-2. The Reds had chances to win it but the Geordies held on to secure a point.
