Man City entertain Tottenham on Sunday with both sides looking for a win to close the gap at the top of the Premier League. Here are out predicted line-ups.
Manchester City entertain Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday with both sides looking for a win to close the gap at the top of the Premier League.
City head into the weekend action sitting eighth in the table – just a single point behind seventh-placed Spurs – so it’s all to play for at the Etihad on Sunday.
Manuel Pellegrini gave little away at his press conference today over whether he’ll recall Joe Hart or stick with Costel Pantilimon between the sticks, but we think he’ll throw Hart back into the first team for the visit of Spurs.
Captain Vincent Kompany remains out with a thigh injury that’s likely to keep him sidelined for another 10 days, so Demichellis and Nastasic could start at the heart of defence – although Lescott will hope to retain his place. Fernandinho has recovered from a knock but David Silva remains out with a calf strain.
For Spurs, Hugo Lloris will return in goal having fully recovered from concussion. Vlad Chiriches is also fit and could start alongside Michael Dawson in defence ahead of Younes Kaboul. Danny Rose remains out with a toe injury so Jan Vertonghen is expected to continue to fill in at left-back.
Etienne Capoue and Mousa Dembele are pushing for starts but Andre Villas-Boas may stick with Paulinho and Sandro in midfield. Christian Eriksen is out for a month after injuring his ankle while away with Denmark so Lewis Holtby is likely to start behind Roberto Soldado.
