Liverpool Target Admits He’s ‘Dreaming’ Of Making Manchester United Move
Liverpool have been dealt a blow after one of their targets has admitted he is dreaming of joining rivals Manchester United – who are also watching the player
Although the summer transfer window is officially closed that doesn’t stop clubs working hard behind the scenes to prepare for future signings, so we’ll keep you up-to-date with all the latest gossip. Today, a Liverpool target has eyes on Man Utd.
Liverpool target Everton Ribeiro has revealed he is dreaming of joining a big club and has his eye set on a move to Manchester United, according to the Express.
The attacking midfielder only joined Cruzeiro last January but has played a key role in helping the club secure the Brazilian title this season, scoring five goals and providing eight assists during a productive campaign.
Reports emanating from Brazil claim that Manchester United have sent their south American scouts to watch the player in action this season with boss David Moyes understood to be keen to add to his attacking options when the transfer window re-opens in January.
But it doesn’t look like United will have a straight shot at the player with the Express also suggesting that Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has identified Ribeiro as a potential replacement for Iago Aspas – who is likely to leave this winter after failing to settle on Merseyside – and will rival the champions for the attackers signature.
However, Rodgers may have his work cut out trying to persuade the 24-year-old to snub a move to Old Trafford in favour of Anfield after he admitted he has always had a soft spot for United and is dreaming of moving to a big club.
“I will continue doing my job here at Cruzeiro but plan on getting to a big club, it’s a dream I’ve had since I was young, I’ve always liked Manchester United.” Ribeiro is quoted as saying by the Mirror.
The newspaper claims that despite only signing him 12 months ago, Cruzeiro are willing to sell the former Brazilian Under-20 international in January if an offer of €8million (£6.7m) is tabled, so the ball is now in Liverpool and United’s court over whether they want to make their interest official.
