The draw for the last 16 of the Champions League took place on Monday morning and as usual it’s thrown up some intriguing ties. Find out who your team got.
The draw for the last 16 of the Champions League took place on Monday morning and as usual it’s thrown up some intriguing ties.
First out the hat were Manchester City, making their first appearance in the knockout stages of the competition after finishing second in the group stages, and Manuel Pellegrini’s men will face Spanish giants Barcelona with the first leg to be played at the Etihad.
Arsenal, who also finished second in their group, have an equally tough task after bring drawn against defending champions Bayern Munich with the first leg to be held at the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners crashed out to Bayern at this stage last season but pushed the Germans all the way, eventually going out on away goals after the tie ended in a 3-3 draw.
Chelsea will be up against a familiar face in Didier Drogba as they will take on Turkish outfit Galatasaray in the next round, with the first leg to be played away from home.
Manchester United boss David Moyes will be happy with his teams draw with the Premier League champions drawn to face Greek side Olympiakos.
Other ties include AC Milan vs Atletico Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen vs PSG, Schalke vs Real Madrid and Zenit vs Borussia Dortmund.
The first leg will be played in February on the 18/19th and 25/26th.
