Referee Line-Up For Weekend Fixtures: See Who’ll Be In Charge Of Your Team’s Game
Here’s a run-through of which referee’s have been selected for this weekend’s Premier League fixtures involving Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Man Utd & Spurs
Clubs get back to Premier League action this weekend after a thrilling week of Cup action that saw some shocks as well as shocking refereeing performances.
Manchester United have endured a terrible start to 2014 with back-to-back cup defeats to Swansea and Sunderland which followed on from a controversial 2-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on New Year’s Day.
Boss David Moyes was livid with the performance of referee Howard Webb at Old Trafford that day, as he failed to award United a nailed on penalty following a dangerous ‘tackle’ by goalkeeper Hugo Lloris on Ashley Young during the closing stages. Webb also booked Danny Welbeck and Adnan Zanuzaj for diving when replay’s showed there had been contact.
The game at Old Trafford was just one of many where the decisions of the referee were scrutinised, so it’s no wonder fans are keen to know who’ll be in charge of their team’s up-coming games.
