Liverpool striker Luis Saurez has been named as the player of the month for December, while Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini lifted the manager award.
Liverpool striker Luis Saurez has unsurprisingly been named as the Barclay’s Premier League player of the month for December, while Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini lifted the manager award.
Suarez was in sensational form last month, scoring 9 goals and providing 7 assists in just seven games to help Liverpool maintain their push for a top four place.
The Uruguayan scored some spectacular efforts along the way and it was no surprise that he saw off competition from Theo Walcott, Ross Barkley, Yaya Toure, Vincent Kompany and Alvaro Negredo to lift the player of the month award.
Manchester City have been rewarded for their excellent form in December with boss Manuel Pellegrini being named as the manager of the month.
The Citizens won six of their seven games – including an impressive 6-3 victory over leaders Arsenal – last month to move up to second in the Premier League and just a single point off top spot.
Pellegrini beat off competition from Jose Mourinho, David Moyes and Roberto Martinez to be names the manager of the month for the first time since joining City in the summer.
