After picking up just 5 points from seven matches in December, Southampton have picked up 4 points from their last two matches following a New Year’s Day defeat at home to Arsenal.
Jay Rodriguez scored last weekend to extend his record to 6 goals in 11 Premier League matches since making his England debut. Prior to that, the former Burnley forward had scored 9 in his first 46 before Roy Hodgson capped him at international level. Artur Boruc’s impressive season took a hit last weekend when conceding 2 at the Stadium of Light.
