Liverpool cruised to a 4-0 win over Everton at Anfield on Tuesday night to take control of fourth place in the Premier League table.
The hosts took the lead through a Steven Gerrard header before Daniel Sturridge made it 2-0 in the 12th minute with a cool finish. It was soon 3-0 when Sturridge lobbed the onrushing Howard and Suarez sealed the win with a stunning fourth, running half the length of the field before cooly slotting home.
Sturridge missed the chance to claim his hat-trick when he skied a penalty in the second half, but Liverpool still took the three points to move three points clear of Tottenham.
