Arsenal slumped to a cruel 2-0 defeat to Bayern Munich at the Emirates tonight to leave us with it all to do heading into the second leg at the Allianz Arena.
After making a superb start, we were handed the perfect opportunity to take the lead when Mesut Ozil was fouled in the area. The playmaker stepped up to take the spot kick himself but his weak effort was saved by Neuer.
It looked like would be made to pay for that miss just before half time when Wojciech Szczesny was controversially sent off for bringing down Robben in the area, with the Bayern man heading away from goal. However, Alaba smashed the resulting penalty against the post so it was 0-0 at the break.
It didn’t take long for the Germans to make their numerical advantage count as Toni Kroos curled home a stunning goal in the 53rd minute before sub Muller headed home a late second to give Bayern a 2-0 advantage heading into the second leg.
