Arsenal play host to Sunderland at the Emirates Stadium this afternoon hoping to move back to the top of the Premier League table.
The Gunners head into the game sitting one point behind Chelsea, but with the Blues currently being held by Everton at Stamford Bridge (at the time of writing), then the north Londoners can move back to the top with a win.
Arsene Wenger has made some changes from the team that lost 2-0 to Bayern Munich in midweek. Kieran Gibbs is out with a buttock injury so Nacho Monreal starts at left-back. Mesut Ozil has been left out of the squad entirely after his poor display against the Germans, with Wenger claiming he has a little thigh problem – although it’s more likely he’s being rested.
Olivier Giroud returns to the starting eleven with youngster Yaya Sanogo dropping back to the bench.
Here are the confirmed line-ups:
Arsenal
Szczesny, Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal, Arteta, Rosicky, Wilshere, Cazorla, Podolski, Giroud
Subs: Fabianski, Jenkinson, Flamini, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Gnabry, Sanogo, Bendtner
Sunderland
Mannone, Bardsley, Ki, Johnson, Colback, O’Shea, Altidore, Bridcutt, Vergini, Alonso, Borini.
Subs: Larsson, Gardner, Celustka, Giaccherini, Cuellar, Scocco, Ustari.
