Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey is targetting his long-awaited injury comeback against North London rivals Tottenham next month, according to the Telegraph.
The Welshman was easily Arsenal’s stand-out player during the first half of the season as he managed to score an incredible 15 goals from midfield in all competitions before the turn of the year.
A thigh injury forced him off against West Ham on Boxing Day and while the problem was only initially meant to keep him out for up to a month, he suffered a set back in training towards the end of January that ruled him out for another six weeks.
However, it looks like the end is in sight with the Telegraph one of several newspapers who are reporting today that Ramsey is now slowly working his way back to full fitness and has targetted the game at White Hart Lane on March 16 as his comeback date.
His return will come as a major boost to Arsenal and Arsene Wenger as should Ramsey make the NLD, it will mean as well as being fit to face Spurs, he’ll also be back to play Chelsea, Manchester City and Everton during what’s going to be a defining period of the season.
Arsenal have lacked energy in midfield without the 23-year-old at times in recent weeks and we’ve certainly missed his goals, so it will be a timely boost for the club as we try to push for the Premier League title during the final few weeks.
