As we gear up for another vital weekend of Premier League action, we bring you the names of the referees who’ll be officiating the games involving the teams at the top of the table.
Goal line technology has helped the man in the middle to a certain degree this season, but referees are still under immense pressure to get the big decisions right. However, despite their best efforts, we still usually have a number of key talking points to discuss on Monday mornings with the officials at the center of many fans’ fury following a poor decision that may have cost their team points.
So it’s no wonder that supporters are keener than ever to know which referees will be officiating their team at the weekend, here’s a run-through for the games at the business end of the league:
We’ll start off at the Britannia where Stoke entertain second-placed Arsenal and Mike Jones has been handed the task of keeping things under control in what could be a tasty game given the history between the two clubs.
Mark Clattenburg has his own unique history with Chelsea but he’ll be the man to oversee their West London derby with Fulham at Craven Cottage. Liverpool take on Southampton at St Mary’s tomorrow and Lee Probert will be the referee for that one, while Phil Dowd will take charge of Tottenham’s clash with Cardiff on Sunday.
