Arsenal eased into the last four on Saturday with a 4-1 win over Everton. Mesut Ozil was back to his best and was on the score-sheet along with Mikel Artera while Olivier Giroud helped himself to a late brace to sink the Toffees.
The Gunners have now been drawn to play the winner of this afternoon’s clash between last years losing finalists Manchester City and current holders Wigan Athletic. City are red-hot favourites to beat the Championship side so it’s likely they will be the ones to face Arsenal in the semi’s.
Sheffield United beat Charlton earlier today thanks to second half goals from Ryan Flynn and John Brayford and they will now play Hull City in the last four.
Steve Bruce’s men just beat last weeks Capital One Cup finalists Sunderland 3-0 with goals from Curtis Davies, David Meyler and Matty Fryatt booking their place in the semi finals where they will be favourites to progress to the final.
The ties are due to be played on the weekend of 12/13th April at Wembley.
