Tottenham Hotspur entertain fierce rivals Arsenal at White Hart Lane on Sunday afternoon.
Ahead of the game, Tim Sherwood has been speaking to TottenhamHotspur.com and gave the latest team and injury news.
Unfortunately it looks like the Spurs boss has several injury worries to contend with and he could be without as many as seven first team squad players tomorrow.
Mousa Dembele has missed the last two games with a hamstring injury and Sherwood has confirmed the Belgian international is still struggling to recover in time to face the Gunners.
Striker Emmanuel Adebayor is also a doubt to face his former side due to knee and ankle problems, while right-back Kyle Walker was forced off during Thursday’s 3-1 defeat to Benfica with a groin complain and is in a race against time to be passed fit for tomorrows clash.
Sherwood told the clubs website:
“Mousa Dembele, Emmanuel Adebayor and Kyle Walker are all struggling,”
Should the trio be ruled out, they will join skipper Michael Dawson on the sidelines after he was ruled out for at least three weeks with a hamstring injury suffered against Chelsea last week, while long-term injury victims Vlad Chiriches (back), Etienne Capoue (ankle) and Erik Lamela (back) are all still unavailable.
However, there was better news regarding the fitness of Gylfi Sigurdsson with the midfielder now back in training and in contention to face Arsenal on Sunday. The Icelandic ace missed the midweek defeat to Benfica in the Europa League with a foot injury but trained with the rest of the first team on Friday.
