Referees Announced For Weekend Fixtures: See Who’ll Be In Charge Of Your Team
As we prepare for another huge weekend in the Premier League title race, here’s a list of who’ll be in charge of the big games involving the teams at the top.
As we enter the business end of the Premier League season, every decision made by the referee is becoming more and more important.
There was huge controversy at Stamford Bridge on Saturday when referee Andrew Mariner wrongfully sent Arsenal’s Kieran Gibbs of in a case of mistaken identity after Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain had handled the ball in the area. It turns out not only did Mariner send the wrong man off, he shouldn’t have shown a red card at all as Eden Hazard’s shot was going off target.
Man City eased past Man Utd 3-0 at Old Trafford last night but it could have been worse for the defending champions as Marouane Fellaini was lucky to stay on the field after a blatant elbow on Pablo Zabaleta that was only adjudged to be a yellow card offence.
With refereeing decisions under the microscope more than ever before, it’s no wonder fans are keen to find out who’ll be officiating their upcoming games, so here’s confirmation of who’ll be in charge of this weekend’s big games involving the teams at the top.
