Chelsea’s Premier League title hopes were dealt a huge blow this afternoon after a John Terry own goal saw them lose 1-0 to Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

The hosts proved to be stubborn opposition for the league leaders as they struggled to create clear cut opportunities and they were made to pay when skipper John Terry headed past Petr Cech under pressure from Joe Ledley just after half time.

Chelsea were well below par for much of the game and the closest they came to finding an equaliser was when Eden Hazard’s shot was turned round the post by Speroni.  Palace held on to record a vital win that moves them clear of the relegation zone but hands Chelsea’s title rivals a major boost.
