Arsenal Hopeful Of Major Injury Boost With Star Midfielder Ready To Return
Arsenal remain hopeful of being handed a major injury boost ahead of next weeks FA Cup semi final against Wigan with a star midfielder set to return to training
As Arsenal gear-up for a season-defining two games against Everton and Wigan, Gooner Mac brings us the latest on Aaron Ramsey’s fitness.
Arsenal remain hopeful of being handed a major injury boost ahead of next weeks FA Cup semi final against Wigan with Aaron Ramsey set to return to training on Thursday, according to the Daily Mail.
The Welshman has been on the sidelines for well over three months after suffering a thigh injury against West Ham back on Boxing Day last year. The 23-year-old’s recovery has been hampered by a series of set-backs, with the injury taking longer to heal due to the build up of scar tissue around the muscle.
However, Arsene Wenger confirmed last week that Ramsey would return to full training late this week and although the Everton clash on Sunday will come too soon, the Daily Mail claim the club remain hopeful he will be fit to face Wigan in the FA Cup semi final next Saturday.
Wenger is likely to remain cautious with the midfielder as he’ll be keen to avoid another set-back, but should Rambo come through a weeks training with no ill-effects, he should be in contention to face the Latics at Wembley.
It will obviously be a major boost to have Ramsey back in the fold, especially for such an important game. Winning the FA Cup is paramount for the club this season and with Jack Wilshere, Theo Walcott and Mesut Ozil still out injured, our options in midfield and attack are pretty limited, so the return of Ramsey would be excellent news.
We’ve sorely missed his energy and goal threat from midfield over the last few months so hopefully he comes through this weeks training okay and is available next weekend to help lead us into the final of the FA Cup.
