Wenger Reveals Fresh Injury Doubts For Everton Clash But Star Midfielder Returns
Latest Arsenal team news: Arsene Wenger confirms two of his squad are fresh injury doubts to face Everton but Aaron Ramsey and Nacho Monreal are available.
Arsenal take on Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday in a game that is likely to prove vital in who finishes in the top four this season.
Ahead of the game, boss Arsenal has been speaking at his pre-match press conference on Friday morning and gave Arsenal.com a team news and injury update.
The good news is that Aaron Ramsey is back in the squad after recovering from a serious thigh injury that’s kept him out for over three months. The boss told us on Thursday that the Welshman returned to full training this week but now he’s confirmed that the 23-year-old will be in the squad on Sunday.
Nacho Monreal is also available again having recovered from a foot injury and the Spaniard could replace Kieran Gibbs in the team with the left-back struggling with a niggling ankle problem.
Arsene revealed that Serge Gnabry is also a doubt with a knee injury while the Frenchman once again insisted that Mesut Ozil won’t be fit in time to face Wigan in the FA Cup semi final at Wembley next weekend.
Here’s what the boss told reporters today:

Obviously it’s a huge boost to have Ramsey back in the squad but we need to be cautious not to expect too much from him, too soon. He’s been out a long time and is going to need time to get back to his best, and I’d be surprised if he started the game on Sunday.
It’s likely Wenger will opt to bring him on in the second half and if he manages to come through the game showing no ill-effects, then he will be in contention to start at Wembley next week.
