Chelsea Name 20-Man Squad For Madrid Match: See If Hazard, Eto’o + Cech Travelled

Jose Mourinho flew out to Spain on Monday afternoon with a 20-man squad in preparation for Tuesday nights clash with Atletico Madrid.
The Blues take on Diego Simone’s men in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final tie at the Vicente Calderon tomorrow and they have confirmed the squad and given the latest team news on Chelseafc.com today.
Unfortunately, striker Samuel Eto’o has been left back in West London after failing to recover from a knee injury that he picked up during Saturday’s shock 2-1 defeat to Sunderland.
However, the good news is that Eden Hazard is among the travelling party and could be in contention after missing the last three games with a calf injury that he picked up during Chelsea’s second leg clash with Paris Saint-Germain earlier this month.
Petr Cech is also in the squad after missing the Sunderland game through illness, and he’s expected to come straight back in to replace Mark Schwarzer in goal.
Branislav Ivanovic hasn’t travelled as he’ll serve a one-match suspension after collecting three bookings in the competition, while Nemanja Matic and Mohamed Salah are also left back in London as they are ineligible having played in the Champions League this season for their previous clubs.
The 20-man squad is:
Goalkeepers:
Petr Cech, Mark Schwarzer, Hilario
Defenders
David Luiz, Gary Cahill, John Terry, Ashley Cole, Nathan Ake, Cesar Azpilicueta, Tomas Kalas
Midfielders/Attackers
Marco Van Ginkel, Ramires, Frank Lampard, Oscar, John Mikel Obi, Eden Hazard, Willian, Andre Schurrle
Strikers
Fernando Torres, Demba Ba.
Obviously it would be a huge boost if Hazard is passed fit to start as Chelsea have certainly missed his creativity in recent games. It will also be interesting to see who Mourinho goes with up front now that Eto’o is out, with Ba making a good claim to start having scored two in his last three games.
