Arsenal To Meet Agent Of €35m-Rated Winger

Arsenal are due to meet with the agent of Fiorentina winger Juan Guillermo Cuadrado in the next 10 days to discuss a potential €35m move to the Emirates.

As we approach the opening of the summer window clubs will be intensifying their efforts in the transfer market so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip. Today, Gooner Mac brings us news of Arsenal’s interest in Juan Guillermo Cuadrado.

Arsenal are due to meet with the representatives of Fiorentina winger Juan Guillermo Cuadrado over the course of the next week to discuss a potential €35m move to the Emirates, according to reports in Spain.

Cuadrado is currently over in Brazil playing for Colombia at the World Cup but it appears that while he’s away, his agent is keeping himself busy back in Europe trying to negotiate a big-money move away from Fiorentia this summer.

Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo are reporting this morning that the 26-year-old’s agent, Alessandro Lucci, is due to arrive in London this week to hold talks with Arsenal officials over a possible move to north London.

However, it appears we face some stiff competition as the report also indicates that Lucci has already held talks with Bayern Munich last Friday where the German giants offered him a €4m-per-season deal to move to the Allianz Arena, while talks are also planned with Barcelona and Cuadrado is said to favour a move to the Nou Camp as he’d love to link-up with the likes of Lionel Messi and Neymar.

While the players agent is working hard to resolve his clients future, Mundo Deportivo suggest that Fiorentia are still keen to keep hold of the winger ahead of their Europa League return next season, and will demand upward of €35m for the players signature.

Whether any club will be willing to meet that figure remains to be seen but it sounds a lot of money for a player who has only really started to prove himself at the top level over the past year or so. Last season was certainly his best as a professional, with Cuadrado scoring 15 goals in 43 appearances for Fiorentina, while he’s also been impressing at the World Cup.

Cuadrado is certainly an exciting talent and he’d add some much-needed pace to our attack, but I’m not sure we’ll get involved if the price really is around €35m and we have to battle the likes of Barcelona and Bayern Munich for his signature.
