Arsenal Set To Complete Stunning €53m Double Swoop
Some exciting news for Arsenal fans with reports claiming that we are set to complete a sensational €53m double swoop for Alexis Sanchez and Morgan Schneiderlin
As we approach the opening of the summer window clubs will be intensifying their efforts in the transfer market so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip. Today, Arsenal look set to complete a stunning double swoop.
Some exciting news for Arsenal fans today with reports in the media claiming that we are set to complete a sensational €53m double swoop for Alexis Sanchez and Morgan Schneiderlin.
News broke last night from French-based journalist Francois Pinet when he claimed on his official Twitter account that Arsenal would sign Sanchez and Schneiderlin this summer.
Pinet works for Tele Mundial and the Metro describe him as one of French football’s most reliable expects who has previously broken several transfer stories including Laurent Koscielny and Olivier Giroud’s moves to Arsenal, so it appears he’s a trustworthy source.
Both players have been strongly linked with a move to the Emirates in recent weeks but the report suggests we’ve been able to fend off stiff competition with the Metro claiming the double deal will set us back €53m (£42m).
Sanchez looks like he’s set to leave Barcelona this summer after being told he’s not part of Luis Enrique’s first team plans and Arsenal have been one of a number of clubs who have been linked, with the Spaniard’s looking for around €34m (£27m).
Reports last week stated that Arsene Wenger has already held talks with the players agent over in Brazil amid on-going interest from Liverpool, but according to Pinet, it looks like we’ve been able to persuade the Chilean attacker to opt for a move to the Emirates.
Obviously Sanchez would be a sensational signing and he’d add some much-needed pace and power to our attack, not to mention his goal-scoring record is impressive as he chipped in with 21 goals and provided 15 assists last season.
Talk of a swoop for Schneiderlin has also intensified in recent days and the midfielder did little to play-down the rumours after hinting he’s already told Southampton chiefs he wants to leave this summer in search of Champions League football.

With his market value understood to be in the region of €19m, it would tie in with the Metro’s claim that he and Sanchez (€34m) will set us back €53m, and I think that would be some excellent business by the club if it comes off.
It’s been a quiet start to the summer for Arsenal but if these reports turn out to be true, it will certainly have been worth the wait as they would be two superb additions to the squad. Chile have just been knocked out of the World Cup so the proposed Sanchez deal could be tied up soon, but we’ll have to wait a little longer for Schneiderlin as he’s still involved with France – who take on Nigeria tomorrow evening.
