Arsenal Negotiating Personal Terms After Having €25m Midfielder Bid Accepted
Arsenal are trying to thrash out personal terms with Sami Khedira after having a €25m bid for the midfielder accepted by Real Madrid, according to reports.
The summer transfer window is now open for business and it’s expected to be a busy few weeks as managers strengthen their squads ahead of next season, so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip. Today, Gooner Mac brings us news on Sami Khedira.
Arsenal are trying to thrash out personal terms with Sami Khedira after having a €25m bid for the midfielder accepted by Real Madrid, according to reports from Spain.
Khedira has been strongly linked with a move to the Emirates in recent weeks with various media outlets claiming that we’ve been in discussions with Madrid over a deal to bring him to north London this summer.
It appears a breakthrough has now been reached as Madrid-based newspaper Marca are reporting today that we’ve had a €25m (£19.8m) bid accepted by the European champions.
With an agreement with Madrid now in place, we’re working hard to agree personal terms with the player and although Arsenal have so far refused to match Khedira’s €7m-per-season salary demands, it’s understood that both parties are hopeful a compromise will be found.
Madrid have decided to cash-in on the 27-year-old after he rejected their latest contract extension offer and with just one-year remaining on his current deal, the Spanish giants have decided to sell now rather than risk losing him for nothing in 12 months time.

It looks as though Arsenal are in pole position to take advantage of this situation and €25m would be an excellent price for a player of Khedira’s quality and experience.
While he may not be the out-and-out defensive midfielder many feel we need, he is more than capable of sitting in front of the back four and will add a huge presence to our team next season, so let’s hope we can reach an agreement over personal terms and finalise the deal.
