Arsenal are due to hold talks with representatives from Catania in London on Tuesday over a potential deal for defender Gino Peruzzi, according to reports.

Arsenal are due to hold talks with representatives from Catania in London on Tuesday over a potential deal for defender Gino Peruzzi, according to reports in Italy.
Arsene Wenger is understood to be in the market for another full-back to act as understudy to new signing Mathieu Debuchy with Carl Jenkinson linked with a move away from the Emirates this summer, potentially on loan.
We were strongly linked with Atletico Madrid’s Javier Manquillo last week but those rumours appear to have died down and it appears the boss has now switched his attention to Catania right-back Gino Peruzzi.
Sky Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reported on Sunday that representatives from the Italian outfit are due to fly into London on Tuesday to hold talks with Arsenal over a potential deal for the 22-year-old right-back.
Peruzzi only moved to Italy 12 months ago when Catania paid Velez Sarsfield around £2.5m for his services, but he’s expected to be on the move again this summer after failing to prevent the club from dropping down to Serie B.
He impressed during his 21 appearances last season and has 4 caps for the Argentinean national team to his name, but he’s still relatively inexperienced so it’s a bit of a risky move if we do bring him in to potentially replace Jenkinson.

We’ll have to see how these supposed talks go on Tuesday but if things go well, Peruzzi could be set to become our third signing of the summer following on from the acquisitions of Alexis Sanchez and Mathieu Debuchy.
