Arsenal have been handed a major injury boost ahead of our clash with Manchester City today with reports claiming that Aaron Ramsey passed his late fitness test on an ankle injury.
Ramsey was considered a doubt for the game after hobbling off during the final stages of Wales’ 2-1 win over Andorra on Tuesday night after twisting his ankle in the artificial 3G pitch.
The 23-year-old returned to North London for treatment this week and had a late fitness test at London Colney on Friday afternoon to determine whether he’d be in contention to face the defending champions.
Arsene Wenger said the Welshman only had a ‘little chance’ to play at his press conference yesterday. However, it appears we’ve received some positive news as Goal claim that Ramsey passed his late fitness test and has been given the all clear to play.
It’s now up to the boss to decide whether to risk Ramsey from the start or use him from the substitutes bench if needed. Obviously this is our biggest test of the Premier League season so far and we need our best eleven out there, but we’ve also got a crucial clash with Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday to worry about.
Ramsey is yet to hit top form this season and with Mikel Arteta, Mesut Ozil, Santi Cazorla and Jack Wilshere all fit and available, we’ve got plenty of options in the middle of the park if Wenger decides to hold the former Cardiff midfielder back to ensure he’s fit for Tuesday.
