Liverpool will be hoping to give their qualification hopes a major boost when they take on Ludogorets in the Champions League on Wednesday night. Here is the team we think Brendan Rodgers will select.
Goalkeeper: No doubt Simon Mignolet will start in goal unless he picks up a late injury.
Defence: Many Liverpool fans are calling on Rodgers to give Kolo Toure a chance in defence after his excellent display against Real Madrid but the Northern Irishman appears to favour the Skrtel-Lovren partnership so it’s likely he’ll stick with it for such an important game. Mamadou Sakho is back in training but this game comes too soon, however, Alberto Moreno should come back in at left-back.
Midfield: Steven Gerrard has been well below his usual standards of late but Rodgers will be calling on his skipper to put in a performance tomorrow. Jordan Henderson is back in contention after recovering from illness and he could join Emre Can in midfield with the German likely to be selected ahead of Joe Allen and Lucas Leiva.
Attack: Mario Balotelli hasn’t travelled as he’s still suffering from a minor groin injury so Rickie Lambert is expected to keep his place up front after scoring against Crystal Palace last time out. Raheem Sterling and Adam Lallana are favourites to support in attack with Philippe Coutinho likely to make-way.
So here is how we think Liverpool will line-up tomorrow:
What do you think of the team? What side would you put out for the game?
