[Video Highlights] Arsenal 1-0 Southampton: Sanchez Nets Late Winner For Gunners

Arsenal needed a late goal from Alexis Sanchez to break down a stubborn Southampton side at the Emirates on Wednesday night.

Neither side could create much during the opening forty-five minutes but Arsenal began to grow into the game after the break and went close to opening the scoring through substitute Olivier Giroud, with Forster denying the Frenchman on three separate occasions whist he also did well to keep out a snap-shot from Danny Welbeck.

However, with just one minute left of the ninety minutes, Aaron Ramsey’s cut back found Sanchez who made no mistake from close range to win it for the Gunners.

The win sees us move up to sixth in the Premier League table and now just three points off third-placed Southampton.
