Arsenal slumped to a 3-2 defeat to Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday afternoon thanks largely to a disastrous opening 45 minutes.
The hosts were ahead inside the opening minute as Arsenal failed to deal with a cross from the right and the ball fell straight to the feet of Peter Crouch who made no mistake from close range.
It was 2-0 midway through the first half when Bojan ghosted into the area unmarked to fire home past Emi Martinez and a terrible opening 45 minutes was complete when Jonathon Walters was on hard to make it 3-0 from Crouch’s knock down following a corner just before the break.
We managed to pull one back from the penalty spot after Mathieu Flamini was clipped in the area, with Santi Cazorla breaking his scoring drought after converting the resulting spot kick.
An unlikely point looked a possibility when Aaron Ramsey volleyed home with 20 minutes remaining for 3-2 but Calum Chambers dismissal for a second yellow card in the 78th minute took the steam out of us and Stoke held on for the three points.
